GETTING TO KNOW ALISON

Being raised here, owning a business here, raising a family here, and volunteering hundreds of hours here has grown my heart so big for the people of District 4. My hands are willing to serve, my ears willing to listen, and I am ready to represent our voices on the county level.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Alison grew up in Pumpkin Center, in the heart of District 4.  She attended North Harlem Elementary School, Harlem Middle School, and graduated from Harlem High School in 1999.  She and her husband are raising two children who are fifth generation District 4 residents.  They attend North Harlem Elementary School and Harlem Middle School.  Alison’s parents were also raised in District 4 and both graduated from Harlem High School in 1973.  Alison’s mother was raised in Harlem and recently retired from a career in teaching preschool to District 4 kids, after following in the footsteps of mother, who taught Georgia history at Harlem Middle School for decades.  Alison’s father was raised in Grovetown off E. Robinson Avenue on Leven Street where his parents and grandmother lived for close to 25 years.  He owns a small engineering firm in District 4.  Two sets of Alison’s great-grandparents owned grocery stores in downtown Harlem in the early to mid-1900’s.  Alison treasures her family and their long-standing ties to our District.
